Benjamin Basire

Benjamin Basire

Benjamin Basire is a political analyst and legal scholar based in Malibu, California. A trusted and well-respected voice on Middle East affairs, Basire is a regular presence on major news platforms, appearing frequently on Fox News and Italy’s national TV RAI News as a commentator on Iran-Israel relations, regional security, and the shifting geopolitical landscape of the MidEast. He comes from the noble Persian-Sephardic Jewish family of Basire – a lineage steeped in centuries of scholarship and resilience across the Middle East, Mediterranean region and the wider diaspora. That background informs the perspective he brings to his work and the trust he commands within the Iranian-American and Jewish communities of Los Angeles, where he is recognized as a reliable voice for making sense of the politics and events that touch their lives and their heritage. Notably, in his recent appearance on Fox News @ Night with Trace Gallagher, on January 2026, Basire became the first political analyst to draw a direct comparison between Sec. Marco Rubio and Winston Churchill – likening Rubio’s approach to foreign policy to the Churchillian tradition, and his doctrine of moral clarity and resolve.

Basire has written extensively on geopolitics, energy access, and MidEast policy for various publications. His analysis is direct, informed, and built on a legal mind trained in two common-law traditions – he holds a law degree from Queen’s University Belfast, part of the United Kingdom’s Russell Group, and a Master of Laws in U.S. Constitutional Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine Caruso School of Law. His undergrad degree is in International & Global Studies. Basire is fluent in Persian, Greek and Turkish. He continues to be sought after by newsrooms, institutions, and communities alike for his ability to cut through noise and deliver analysis that is both authoritative and accessible.
